In this vibrant blend of expressionism and pop art, I channel deep emotions and human experiences into a visual spectacle. With bold acrylic strokes and dynamic spray accents, I capture a moment of release, empowerment, and transcendence. It’s a powerful visual expression that will infuse any space with an aura of liberation and impassioned life.
Kerry Inkster's Perspective
Artist's commentary
This artwork is named after a line in Emily Dickinson’s poem of the same name. The surface meaning is about a personified gun, but delve a little deeper into the text and Dickinson’s views on women and poetry are, perhaps, revealed: a woman and her words are not only powerful, but in a man’s world will stand the test of time.
I take pride in
the fact that my contemporary approach of art making, to capture my model in splashes of paint using contrasting colours, gives a sense of passion and energy.
A random fact I love is
That many of my artworks are named after lines in songs, or poems, that have significant meaning to me as a woman.
