ESTIMATE USD 700- USD 900 I made this painting after a trip to Spain where I was told an enchanting regional story. There was a Moorish king who married a woman from the north. As a wedding gift, the king planted row upon row of almond trees so that when they blossomed his queen would be reminded of the snow of her childhood and feel at home.

Artist's commentary
This is a very gestural, textured painting. I built it up in layers, sometimes masking out completely what’s underneath and sometimes letting areas of previous layers show through. I think it has a good balance of colour, drama and playfulness.
