Oil and acrylic on panel in antique frame Raise is a portrait of Dr. Dori Tunstall, who is the Dean of Design at OCAD, Toronto. In taking this role, Dr. Tunstall was the first Black Dean of Design in the world, and is a leader in the decolonization of design. The title of this piece relates to her position in the community as someone who acts as an agent of change, to raise the awareness of how white supremacy dominates the design industry and impacts the Black community.
