“Bloom Tall" marks a significant departure from Vasak's previous work, which often centred on the human figure as depicted in popular culture. In this exhibition, the human form is conspicuously absent, with plants taking centre stage. These botanical subjects are sourced from vintage books, undergoing a transformative process of abstraction. By cutting the images from their original contexts, scanning, recolouring, enlarging, and re-printing them, Vasak emphasises the textures inherent in the offset printing process of the original materials.
