Through self portrait, I am exploring the idea of Internal and mental wounds, and the idea of the aesthetic of the bruise. By staining and material, I create a push and pull representing the presence, and the absence of the body. With the movement and jesters of the work, I want to open the feeling and interpretation up to the viewer.

Paige Dawdy is a multidisciplinary artist. Her current practice has been exploring various materials with a focus in ink/watercolour and embroidery on Satin. Through gestures of the body and the bruise as a mark, she wants to represent the feeling of pain and healing, with the expression of emotional numbing. By staining and material, she creates a push and pull representing the presence, and the absence of the body. Paige grew up in London Ontario Canada and has been showing between London and Toronto for the past 8 years. Paige graduated from Ontario College of Art and Design University in 2020, with her Bachelor of Fine Arts, specializing in Drawing and Painting.
