The Darling Collection is a series of oil pastel artworks inspired by the Old Money lifestyle. Each painting highlights a detail of the hobbies, habits, or characteristics of this style. This theme was chosen due to the emotion it conveys, being highly desired yet unattainable. Greatly influenced by the everyday representation of Impressionism, the artist decided to draw equal inspiration from the beauty of everyday life in contemporary times. This piece is created using a mixed media technique, where a print of an image is used as a base and then elaborately painted with multiple layers and techniques of oil pastel. This process combines the precision of the image with the texture and richness of oil pastel, resulting in a unique piece that blends the best of both worlds.
