About this artwork
Oil on linen stitched together. While attending a meditation retreat at Spirit Rock meditation center, I spent many days in silence, often observing the wild turkeys that had no fear of humans. The colors and textures of their feathers amazed me. I had no idea how beautiful they were, so in silence, I tried to memorize their patterns. This painting was a memory of that experience.

About the artist
Thank you for taking a look at my artwork. From an academic background in science, I gained a deep awareness of the existential crisis faced by our planet and all of her creatures. My concern about climate change, coupled with a rich inner world, motivates me to create artwork at the intersection of environmentalism and spirituality. My work considers climate change alongside heart-centered experiences of awe, wonder, grief, and possibility. I share bits of my personal life and spiritual phiolosophy, while exploring both representational and abstract methods, to offer a colorful, painterly, sometimes scientific, visual expression of the Anthropocene.
