About this artwork
This painting is a captivating portrait of Lenis. It presents her as a modern-day fisherwoman, attired in a blue and white dress that billows gracefully around her. Her vibrant red sneakers, captured with meticulous precision, add a contemporary touch to her traditional attire. A tattoo gracefully adorns her right arm, telling a story of its own. Her hands, captured in a moment of delicate movement, convey a profound sense of connection and purpose. Lenis’s gaze is perhaps the most captivating aspect. It seems to transcend the frame, as if she’s lost in contemplation, her thoughts drifting toward something distant and intriguing. Her eyes sparkle with a mix of determination and curiosity, inviting viewers to join her in this moment of reflection. Directly beneath her, on the sandy ground, two baskets are carefully arranged, one nestled neatly inside the other. And the background of the image gracefully blurs into a dreamscape, where twilight colors meld seamlessly, creating an atmosphere that is both mysterious and enchanting. The transition between day and night is masterfully captured, adding depth and intrigue to the scene.

About the artist
Hi! I'm Séfora Camazano, a Spanish-Brazilian artist with over 20 years of experience working across photography, painting, graphic design, and videography. While I enjoy experimenting with different mediums, portraiture is where I truly feel at home. There's something powerful about capturing the essence of a person, and I strive to do more than just portray their appearance—I aim to tell their story. My art is deeply influenced by my passion for social justice and human rights. I believe that art can give a voice to those who are often unheard. Many of the people I paint have lived through incredibly difficult experiences, and through my portraits, I hope to share their personal stories with the world. Every portrait comes with a narrative, one that reflects not only the individual but also broader issues like gender violence, inequality, and social exclusion. In my work, I like to blend contemporary techniques with more classical elements, creating pieces that invite people to look beyond the surface. But for me, it’s not just about the visual impact—it’s about creating an emotional connection between the viewer and the person in the portrait. My hope is that when you see one of my pieces, it makes you pause, reflect, and feel something real. Art, to me, is a tool for change. Every piece I create is a statement, a call to action that goes beyond aesthetics. I aim to capture both the fragility and strength of the human spirit, and I want my art to spark conversations and inspire empathy. My work is about more than just technique—it's about the stories and the people behind each portrait. I’d love for you to explore my work, get to know the stories, and hopefully connect with the art on a deeper level. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey—I’m excited to share it with you!
