La Vie Est Belle is a 36” x 36” mixed media painting on wood panel. The background is a collage of original Life Magazine covers. The overlay C’est La Vie (That’s Life) is in a vibrant orange acrylic paint. The chosen covers are from the 1960’s and early 70’s. Barbra Streisand, Sinatra, Lucy, Marilyn, Audrey Hepburn all grace this nostalgic piece plus many more.

I am a mixed media artist living and working in Toronto and born in Montreal. I used the power of language to draw out emotion and connect with the viewer. Nostalgia is a big part of my process. Finding life magazines, playbills or game cards to create a painting is one part and picking the perfect phrase to overlay on the collage is another. I work in my home studio daily and truly love what I do.
