Beirut 001 3D model of Beirut in .3dm format. 2020 697 Megabytes In the absence of a digital 3d model of Beirut, the work titled Beirut 001, is the first readily available open-source digital 3D model of Beirut, Lebanon, that is offered to the public to collectively reimagine the city. Published during the 2019 October Revolution, I ominously ask, “What will you do with it?” and suggest ways to conceptualize the urban, to plan but also overtake. After the mysterious August 4th 2020 Beirut port explosion, the model gained an uncanny archeological quality and became a source for first responders, local and international professionals.
