About the artist
I am an oil painter. I like to paint with brushes and I like the palette knife too. I use paint and color and texture the way a writer uses words and imagery and description. I am attracted to strong lines and powerful brushstrokes. My influences are definitely the Fauves- Matisse, Derain- especially in their use of color. Diebenkorn and Thiebaud are also very influential in my idea of abstraction. www.paintingsbypauline.com
