About this artwork
Sacred Walls ...is about facing inner demons. This painting is part of my "The Nameless Hour “ series and this one in particular is inspired by Albert Camus quote: "It was near the end of the day. The time of the day I don't like talking about. That Nameless Hour. When the sounds of evening would rise up from every floor of the prison, in a cortege of silence." Albert Camus . …. About the artist
“I derive inspirations from all forms of creativity - including my Eastern and Asian roots and my Western experiences. Art is a stamp of time and yet timeless: from the intricate details of old masters work to the bold strokes of the expressionists; from a piece of beautiful writing to the light in a photographic image; the energy, shades of light and the movement in any form of creative art inspires me to paint. I work with a range of materials, including oils, acrylics, charcoal, ink, and mixed media. I use art as a means of connecting communities across multicultural divides, driving awareness of women-specific challenges and as a source of building mental health at all stages of life. My calligraphy paintings are an attempt to explore deeper spiritual meanings and building associations through their interpretations.” Saima Bajauri is a Pakistani-Born Artist living in Toronto.
