My work is a visual dialogue revolving around the creation of powerful symbols that embrace the vulva, womb, and their transformative power by challenging historical norms in a modern context. The mysticism and unspoken wisdom that underpin my art question centuries-old norms that prioritize the veneration of masculine deities while neglecting the worship of the vulva and womb—a practice deeply rooted in ancient societies. With materials such as reflective acrylic and glass mirror, I resurrect this reverence in a contemporary context, inviting viewers to actively engage and embark on a journey of introspection. These sinuous portals and womb-like symbols introduce a feminist-focused geometric lexicon of iconography. My creative journey began with a focus on social practice, including teaching art to older adults and empowering participants through vulva self-portraiture and body painting. This diverse range of experiences has allowed me to work across various mediums, from murals to paintings and sculptural mirrors. Through my art, I have harnessed a deep sense of inner spiritual knowledge, with a special commitment to empowering individuals with vulvas through symbolism. My work inspires deeper self-understanding and empowerment in others, offering a unique perspective that bridges the personal and universal through symbolism and mysticism.
