About this artwork
This painting portrays a solitary woman seated at a small table, absorbed in quiet reflection while holding an open book. The scene unfolds indoors, framed by a warm orange wall and deep red curtains, with a window revealing a glimpse of nature outside. The contrast between the intimate interior and the outside world creates a sense of emotional depth and stillness. The figure’s face is intentionally simplified, almost anonymous, inviting the viewer to project their own emotions and identity onto her. She is not a specific person, but a state of mind. The artwork explores themes of introspection, solitude, and inner life. The act of reading becomes a metaphor for self-discovery and contemplation — a pause from the noise of the outside world. The strong, contrasting colors reflect emotional tension: • Warm tones suggest comfort, memory, and intimacy • Cool blues evoke calm, melancholy, and quiet thought The closed, intimate setting emphasizes the idea that solitude can be a space of strength rather than loneliness. The woman appears grounded yet distant, physically present but mentally elsewhere a moment many viewers can recognize in themselves.

About the artist
My relationship with art is rooted in emotion rather than perfection. I am drawn to painting as a way of observing inner states — quiet moments, solitude, and the subtle tension between the inner world and the outside environment. I work instinctively, allowing color and composition to guide the narrative. Faces are often simplified or undefined, leaving space for the viewer to project their own feelings and experiences. I’m less interested in exact representation and more in what is felt but not spoken. My work explores themes of introspection, femininity, memory, and stillness. Through intimate interiors and solitary figures, I aim to create images that invite pause — moments where time slows and the viewer can sit with their own thoughts. Painting, for me, is a form of listening: to myself, and to those who see themselves reflected in the work.
