About this artwork
No brushes were used in creating this painting — I use a light table with 6 overhead mirrors, plus my hands, fingers and small improvised tools like spatulas and rollers. This dimensional composition is comprised of one continuous movement (one virtuoso hand motion; a single integrated gesture passing through and around itself). Blue Book Series © 2019 Oil on French paper - Canson Arches BFK, deckled 30” x 22” (76cm x 56cm) Painted image size 21.5”h x 17.7”w (55cm x 45cm) Images: • “Full” View (frame not included) • Closeup/Detail • Front face with signature • Authenticity Impression (front left) • Studio embossment (front right) • Versa/Back For background information view my website at DavidChamberlainPainting.com

About the artist
I have devoted a lifetime trying to understand why I see images when I hear music — and see music when I hear images. I am not sure what this means or how it happens, but I love the feeling, and I count on it… although I have no idea how it works in my mind’s eye and ear. You can imagine my curiosity (and relief) when scientists began to talk about synesthesia, giving some sort of identity to what I thought for many years was a strange, scary and sometimes exhilarating cognitive quirk.
