About this artwork
This painting series was inspired by my father’s memories as a Mariner. The series is part of a larger plan to document my ancestors’ and descendants’ memories, creating a family saga just like John Steinbeck did in East of Eden, Gabriel Garcia Marquez in One Hundred Years of Solitude, and Salman Rushdie in Midnight’s Children.

About the artist
My sources of inspiration are poetry and classical Indian literature. I often revisit themes of nostalgia for my childhood and paint locales I frequented, like the deer forests of the Kalakshetra Foundation and the banyans of the theosophical society.
