About this artwork
Watercolor, India Ink and Acrylic on Canvas with watercolor ground then spray varnished with UV varnish. Watercolor ground is a unique gesso like surface that gives a canvas some of the qualities of watercolor paper allowing me to work at a bigger scale. The UV varnish brings out the luminosity in the painting and insures protection from sun exposure. This piece captures the joyful spontaneity of watercolor, with bold, unexpected color combinations and playful whimsy. Created in harmony with the paint’s natural movement, it invites viewers to revel in its energy and return to discover something new each time.
