About the artist
Michele de la Menardiere is a professional painter based in San Francisco, California. She earned her degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, England. Renowned for her bold, abstract compositions, Michele has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. Her paintings are featured in numerous private and corporate collections, including the DC Commission for the Arts and Humanities, Nokia, One Medical, and Westin Hotels. Michele was selected for the U.S. State Department’s Art in Embassies Program, through which her works were exhibited in Algeria and Kosovo and are now part of the permanent collection at the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Her work has also been chosen for notable public art projects, including large-scale installations at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Arlington, VA, and within the metro station in Crystal City, VA. Additionally, Michele’s paintings have been featured in prominent media outlets such as The Washington Post, on the set of KQED’s “Check Please! Bay Area,” and in Sotheby’s home stagings.
