About this artwork
Home made canvas (you're more than welcome to replace the wood frame work with a new one) this canvas has a story. It was built by a small community in New York as a thank you gift to me for decorating their shops on Christmas 2014. It took me years of anxiety to finally decide what to paint on it. I started the painting of white Ravens and cherry blossom in 2022 then finished the painting in 2023. The title of the Painting is A Key to My Wings. This painting is 36in by 60in for those who need a simple understanding of the size. Handle with love and care if you choose to keep the home made frame. I wouldn't mind if you replaced it though ♡ I have faith you know what to do. (You'll notice I started a painting but flipped the fabric around to start new) The story of the fabric for this canvas is that you could see some minor indents like someone leaned something on it for a while and ignored it for a years...(remind you that the white Ravens was not painted yet) that story tugs my heart as I've had to rescue my canvas from someone who has a habit of taking things from me. Once I rescued my canvas I was able to finally scrub, sanitize and smooth the fabric over the frame to paint on it. After completing it my children also tested the strength of the canvas with their naturally curious toddler minds ♡ Every bit of detail in the paint, framework, and fabric has a story. I sometimes wonder if ancient paintings had this much of a struggle back when everything was traveled by horse and buggy. (Ooohh I should paint that 🤔) Wether this large painting finds a home or not, this painting is beautiful and I hope it outlives me for as long as time allows it to exist. Each Raven is symbolic to my 4 children, I always think of them when I paint 🎨 ♥️
