Alyssa is inspired by the natural world and how we experience landscapes and places. Each artwork utilizes abstraction, vivid color, and energetic mark-making. Inspired also by memory and the remembering process, Alyssa utilizes a process-based painting and drawing practice which allows for improvisation. In addition to being a collected and exhibiting artist, Alyssa is a mother, an ultra runner, and an educator.
