About the artist
Sandra Blow (CDMX, 1990) studied advertising at the Centro Universitario de Marketing y Publicidad and a diploma in Artistic and Photographic Professionalization at 357MX. She is a creator of iconic images and moments, portraying Mexico City’s queer, artistic, and nightlife scene for years. Her work ranges from the documentary photography of her immediate surroundings (friends, characters and landscapes of her life), through fashion editorials and registry of nightlife and the party scene. She uses both digital and analog formats, especially 35mm film in disposable cameras. She has perfected portraiture under limited optics and conditions, as her work for years has been about shooting fast with no crew under challenging light. She has exhibited individually and collectively in: kurimanzutto (CDMX), Salón Silicón (CDMX), LADRÓNgalería (CDMX), SUM Gallery (Vancouver), Zona MACO (CDMX), Art Base (Puebla) and Redaktion Luzern (Luzern, Switzerland). She currently lives and works in Mexico City. Her work is part of collections like Soho House México and The Museum of Modern Art. New York.
