About this artwork
Estimated Value: $120 This digital piece is inspired by the idea of community. Through the use of multiple forms and patterns, I portrayed the feeling of having a support system and as well giving the same support to others. I used different motifs such as hands and the knot to signify having a strong bond.

About the artist
Chimemelie Okafor is a Nigerian multidisciplinary artist currently studying art at OCADU in the Drawing and Painting program. OCAD. She enjoys working with a variety of mediums but a majority of her pieces are acrylic and oil paintings. A theme in most of her works is identity. She explores this theme by not only focusing on herself as a black girl but as someone who struggles with anxiety. Through merging her self-portraits with objects, she touches on topics and issues which are often overlooked and belittled such as embracing flaws and self-exploration. She explores the intersection between human behaviour or emotions and the tangible world.
