About the artist
Looking at my work, you are at once hit by the sugar-pop of color that reimagines the landscapes I bring to life on canvas. It’s hard not to be swept along in the bounce of my thick textured paint strokes and moved by the sheer joy that emanates from the rich oil colors. I specialize in vibrant open-impressionist landscapes that capture the essence of a scene, breathe new life into it, and leave the observer uplifted. It’s as if my mind were a prism that takes in white light and disperses the component colors on the rolling hills or through the branches of a tree. This gives my work a ‘blown glass’ quality where colors play off each other and come together as a whole to define the feeling of a scene. In contrast to the chaos and harshness of daily life, I find solace in bringing nature’s soothing beauty to canvas. These days, you can find me, hair wildly blowing in our beloved national and provincial parks, in my sneakers snapping pictures of the morning light falling across a lake, or capturing the straight rows of grapevines contrasted with the wildflowers of a west coast vineyard. As an international award-winning artist, I am continually inspired to push the boundaries of expression and capture the profound connection I have with nature.
