There is something about what arises by accident that insistently attracts me: the mark on the furniture, the scar on the face, the randomness in the growth of branches… The unexpected reveals to me the nature of things—the undesigned, the uncalculated. We can observe how, even when repeating the same gesture each time, it will never be exact. The inefficiency of the human gesture—its feeling, its strength, or its fragility—merges with the pictorial matter, which also flows freely. The undesigned is beauty to me. That is why, in my works, I have abandoned geometry, drawing, calculation, and the pursuit of technique, to find—almost by accident—a language that speaks of us as humans in our most primal and instinctive state, playing with matter while reflecting on the times we live in… and our past.
