I’m a painter from Allentown, PA who earned his MFA at Pratt Institute in studio arts. Browne has had solo shows with Bishop’s Stock Gallery in Maryland called From the Crowd and with C. Leslie Smith called New Landscapes which featured his new landscapes of the Lehigh Valley Landscape. He has also been included in numerous group shows including “New Contemporary American Realist Biennial” at the Fort Wayne Museum of art and Emerging artists at Limner Gallery. My work would best be described as realism though it is also deeply rooted in narrative ideas. Using the narrative style I create cinematic scenes that show the interaction of space and the figure. Lately, I have focused more on the space around me and started developing more landscapes. These range from snapshots from the lives of people living in the multiplying condos, bar scenes. specialized niches like the underground world of burlesque, and simply clouds. I’m exploring the cinematic qualities of both landscapes and portraiture in a way to express the fleeting moments in time.
