If I could talk about it, I wouldn't paint. But I can't say that, so I painted about it. I am Egidijus Darulis, a painter based in the small village of Bartkuškiai, Lithuania. My practice is centered around themes of decay, transience, and the perpetual cycle of life and death. I explore subjects that are fragmented, decomposed, or approaching oblivion, translating the aesthetics of the "rotted and corrupted" into powerful visual narratives. By focusing on the process of physical disintegration, I aim to converse not merely about termination, but about eternity. My work seeks to find the underlying vitality and spiritual continuity within matter that is changing form, ultimately speaking to the universal and timeless nature of existence.
