Chinwe Chigbu is a self-taught Nigerian artist who delves into themes of spirituality, identity and femininity through lens-based, performance and new-media art. She uses art as a tool for collective liberation. Chigbu studied International Relations and Political Science at Les Cours Sonou Université and began her artistic journey in 2017. Chinwe Chigbu has exhibited globally with series like Muse, Not Your Bride, and Geum. Recognized with the Kuenyehia Prize (2nd Runner Up, 2020), she was also an Access ARTX Prize finalist (2023) and an Artist-In-Residence at Black Rock Senegal (2022).
