About the artist
I am an Austrian artist, who studied in Linz and is now living and working in Vienna. In 2018 I started experimenting with layers of thin wrapping paper stretched on wooden frames. I prep them with boneglue and work mostly with oil paint, collaging layers of paper side by side with brush strokes. I find my inspirations in the surrounding society, the internet and surreal dreams. The Austrian State granted me with a studio scholarship from 2021-2028. Residencies in Copenhagen, Austria and Czech Republic. Always looking for opportunities to travel. Founder of the artist duo mariamaria with Ilona Rainer-Pranter. Together we explore how art is perceived by viewers through Passive Performace Installations and more. stay tuned and check insta in the meantime @eva_eichinger_
