Born and raised in Connecticut, USA, I spent many of the last several years in southern California between Los Angeles and San Diego until summer 2020, when I relocated to Berlin, Germany. Mostly self-taught, I began abstract painting twelve years ago after a long career in entertainment finance.  Simultaneously, I began a daily spiritual practice of meditation that informs my work in the form of bold, gestural textures and colors, meditative patterns, and copious use of metal leaf - usually gold.  My work is influenced by the natural world, architectural shapes and patterns, and visions that occur during meditations. I want to create accessible work that sparks some feeling, emotion, or curiosity by those who are viewing it.
