My thought process behind this piece was very intuitive. I wanted to create a woman who felt almost otherworldly—something between a sea goddess, an oracle, and a representation of the feminine subconscious. I was drawn to the idea of combining natural materials like shells and crystals with the painted figure, because I wanted the piece to feel like something ancient that had been discovered rather than simply painted. A lot of the details were added organically as the piece developed. The spirals, shells, stones, and colours all became part of the symbolism and atmosphere, while the stone at her throat became an important focal point for me. I wanted her expression to feel calm but knowing, as though she carries something that the viewer isn't necessarily meant to understand immediately. I'd like collectors to know that this is an original, one-of-a-kind mixed-media piece. It was created using acrylic paint, coloured pencil, gel pens, crystal stones, and natural seashells, with each detail being applied by hand. More than anything, I hope the piece leaves room for the collector to create their own meaning from it. I don't think art always needs to tell you exactly what to see—I like the idea that different people can look at her and feel something completely different.
