About this artwork
Made of the stuff of summer. "Leap" contains grass stains and inky shadows next to a sun-soaked stream. LEAP is the feeling of being outdoors on your greatest adventure. It is playful to the core and you can almost feel the piece of black cherry bark swing from bank to bank across the stream of yellow and black. I created this piece in the height of summer. I was experimenting with grass stains as a part of my practice and work. This piece was a surprise and one that I feel joy every time I look at it. A part of my 2023 GRASS-STAINED AND SUMMER-RAINED body of work. Black Cherry, lichen, dried unidentified mosses, grass stain, acrylic, indicia ink, soft pastels and puddles on raw canvas stretched over board.
