About this artwork
This painting marks the final chord of a difficult, yet beautiful period in my life. On this canvas, I didn't just paint a landscape; I executed an inner ritual of saying goodbye to an unrequited love—a profound emotion that could never come to fruition, the beauty and pain of which I carried within me. The ruined pavilion depicted here symbolizes the bygone, forgotten era to which this impossible love belongs. It is slowly decaying, being reclaimed by nature, marking a closed chapter of the past. In stark contrast stands the evergreen tree, its solid trunk and sprawling canopy acting as a symbol of remembrance and the constancy of time. This tree is the only one that remembers the pavilion's former splendor, much like my heart remembers the pure, hopeless beauty of the emotion. The vibrant, blooming meadow is the last, overflowing manifestation of the beautiful, unreleased feeling—the moment before the soul finally moves on. This painting is my catharsis. Every layer of paint is an unspoken word, every brushstroke a quiet sigh of hope that I am now finally setting free. It serves not as a reminder of sadness, but of the strength to move forward: I accept the ruined past, but I endure and thrive in the present, like the steadfast tree, so that the future may finally bloom.

About the artist
My name is Lusyana Macovei, a visual artist whose creative journey has shifted from the foundation of precise graphic design to the realm of heartfelt, atmospheric painting. I graduated with a degree in graphic design in 2014, where portrait drawing was my main focus, establishing my sensitivity to form and proportion. Painting recently entered my life and immediately became my true passion. As a mother of a young child (a thriving 8-month-old boy), the time dedicated to creation is a precious, valuable moment that provides calm and rejuvenation in the rush of everyday life. Painting is not merely self-expression; it is a form of meditation that I cherish every minute of. Rain as the Muse The central theme of my paintings is the rain. This elemental phenomenon inspires me in real life as well, with its sound, its light refractions, and the quiet atmosphere it promises. My goal is to capture the feeling conveyed by the raindrops on the canvas: a sense of deep, transient serenity. Through my work, I aim for viewers to pause, if only for a moment, step out of the daily noise, and experience the soothing, contemplative atmosphere offered by the inspired silence of music, light, and rain. Graphic precision meets the depth of color to provide a unique, emotionally resonant experience.
