My name is Vanessa Michiels and I am a Toronto based artist. I studied at OCAD University for Illustration and graduated in 2016. Since graduating I have evolved into a fine art painter and tell stories through my portraits. I am inspired by vintage photos and especially old hollywood which I incorporate into my work and give them modern and surreal twist. I love kitsch and sci-fi and those elements can be seen throughout my work. Most of my work is acrylic but i have recently started using oils also.
