From 2020 to 2023, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, my creative focus shifted from weaving to painting. I experimented with unconventional materials such as nail polish, eyeshadow, lipstick, and garlic skin. These works were exploratory and expressive, yet distinctly personal — reflecting the flood of information and forced decisions we all faced in that period.Since 2023, my painting style has become more defined. My representative series include Cells and Spirit Beasts. The Cells series explores emotional particles, magnetic fields, and environmental influences — often presented in pairs, each with symbolic meanings. The Spirit Beasts series draws inspiration from Zen meditation, using simple tools like sketch paper, ink, and dip pens to reach a contemplative creative state, resulting in intuitive, unexpected works.2025: New Large-Scale Series — Flower SpiritsThis ongoing project builds upon the conceptual foundations of Cells and Spirit Beasts, influenced by Georgia O’Keeffe’s Flowers series and my personal experiences. The format expands into large canvases (140 x 90 cm), combining emotional subtlety with scale.Throughout my journey, I have continuously reflected on what it means to be an artist. I believe artists should have sharp insight and profound thought. Their work should evolve as they do. My art is systematic, yet ever-growing and breaking boundaries through time and introspection.
