About the artist

Angelika Schori

Angelika Schori's work can reluctantly be coined "poetic minimalism." In creating a dialogue between the environment and the work, she challenges the exhibition space, turning the architectural environment into interactive paintings. By introducing the primary elements of light and color predominantly through an immaterial reflection, the works take on a generative presence that extends into and become part of the environment in which they reside. Schori graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, HGK Basel with a Master of Fine Arts and since has been featured in exhibitions in New York, Miami, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, and France. Schori currently lives and works in Basel, Switzerland.
