Stefanie Guerrero grew up in Austin, TX, and San Luis Potosí. As the founder of a Ridgewood ceramic studio, her goal is to nurture a creative community by providing an encouraging environment for experimentation and bringing makers together. Guerrero’s art practice, often ceramics-based, explores parallels between her experiences as the daughter of Mexican immigrants growing up Catholic and broader issues like displacement, identity, social concerns, and consumerism. Her sculptures examine the transient nature of clay and organisms' adaptation to survive, embracing existence's fleeting essence. She has exhibited work in Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York City, Austin, TX and Stockholm.
