Piril Kaftan (b. 1993-Istanbul) lives and works in Los Angeles, California. She earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, recipient of the New Artist Society Award. In her paintings, drawings and sculptures, she employs the fundamentals of collage and material exploration to bridge between automatism and symbolism as well as spirituality against her multi-cultural background.
