Koraljka Polacek is a painter and art teacher. She was born in Zagreb, Croatia, into a family of artists. Education: 1991-1998, Academy of Fine Arts (MA), Zagreb, Croatia. Department of Art education and Art history, course Painting While attending the Academy, she started exhibiting her paintings in collective and individual exhibitions. By now, she has over forty independent exhibitions. Koraljka worked as an art teacher in Zagreb (1998-2007), and later on the island of Cres (2019-2023). Today, she is a full-time artist, living in the city of Rijeka, Croatia. Koraljka's favorite art inspiration is cats, which is not a surprise considering her love for animals, especially cats, which she was also rescuing for many years. She loves to paint portraits of cats and other pets, the same as creating fantasy artworks like "cat town", "cat world" etc. Her favorite technique is acrylic colors on classical stretched canvas. Koraljka's paintings are part of private collections in Croatia and abroad. She has been a member of the Croatian Association of Artists HDLU since 1998
