Kalina Horon, born in Poland in 1992, has been living and working in Vienna since 2014. She earned her MFA in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and studied in Vienna under the guidance of Daniel Richter and Brigitte Kowanz. In her work, Kalina employs an intuitive and improvisational approach, inspired by the way jazz musicians work. She spontaneously brings elements onto the canvas and allows the creative process to grow organically. This dynamic creates space for surprises and enables her to transform the energy of the streets into her artworks. Her paintings reflect not only personal experiences but also societal themes and tensions. The emotional depth of her art arises from her own engagement with the world. Often, she feels a certain isolation while visually processing impressions and experiences. This reflection gives her works a unique intensity that invites the viewer to explore their own emotions and thoughts.
