Art is powerful because...

Art is powerful because it allows you to see inside of someone's unique world. For the observer, it is a window into an alternate reality. That alternate reality being someone's heart and soul. And one's art being seen by another can be a validation of the experiences one has gone through which are reflected in the art. Like flowers from dirt, art is.

As a kid, a piece of art I made was...

I was in second grade. I made a beautiful, yet simple, mask of a tiger's face out of clay. It was wearable, with rope around the back. The eyes were hollowed out for use. The most impressive part was its smoothness. There wasn't a fingerprint on it when I was finished.
