Raquel Sofía Moreno’s work is mainly related to the representation of women, the daily routine and intimacy. Women crying with rage, with bad tattoos, with hair everywhere, stained with blood on beaches or locked in their rooms, usually alone or where it does not matter to be seen. Almost all of them are small drawings, which she makes on notebooks or loose papers in her room. This practice, which has accompanied her throughout time, helps her to discover and think about rage, the representation of women in situations in which she sees herself or in which she would like to be. Her images are also constructed from what she sees or listens to, her favorite songs, everyday experiences, horror movies or things she finds on the internet. Raquel has classified her ways of drawing in two categories: Map Drawings and Fury Drawings. In the Map Drawings she uses mainly rapidographs, there are many elements, women’s bodies surrounded by animals, pointed figures, weeds, and generally everything floats on the paper. For the fury drawings she uses mainly colored pencils and oil pastels, in these she uses more specific situations, usually portraits of women making gestures or crying.
