Jen Aitken makes sculptures and drawings that combine perceptual ambiguity with structural clarity. Aitken received a Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts Award in 2021, and the Hnatyshyn Foundation and TD Bank Emerging Visual Artist Award in 2017. Recent exhibitions include the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal; the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC; Arsenal Contemporary Art, Montreal and Toronto; TrépanierBaer, Calgary; and Nicholas Metivier Gallery, Toronto.
