About this artwork
This captivating artwork is an immersive exploration of texture and color, meticulously crafted to intrigue and engage the viewer. The piece features a striking spiral design, composed of concentric ridges that ripple outwards from the center in an almost hypnotic fashion. Each ridge is carefully sculpted, adding a tangible, three-dimensional quality to the work, which invites tactile engagement and offers a dynamic play of light and shadow across its undulating surface. Dominated by a rich palette of vibrant greens interspersed with accents of deep teal, the color scheme evokes a sense of organic growth and natural vitality. The varying hues create a visual rhythm that enhances the spiral’s movement, leading the eye fluidly from the innermost curl to the outermost edge. This gradient transition not only emphasizes the depth and perspective of the piece but also imbues it with a pulsating energy, as if capturing the essence of a living, breathing entity. The solidity and clarity of the lines are complemented by the subtle variations in texture, where smoother segments contrast with more rugged patches, adding layers of complexity and visual interest. The thick application of paint adds to the tactile quality, suggesting a labor-intensive process that underscores the artist’s meticulous attention to detail and dedication to their craft. This artwork stands out for its unique combination of simplicity in form and complexity in execution, achieving a harmonious balance between minimalistic design and rich, textured depth. It encourages viewers to lose themselves in its intricate details and swirling motion, making it a mesmerizing centerpiece in any collection or exhibition.

About the artist
I have come to a realization about myself and my art. I am impatient and I have need for instant gratification. I get frustrated with time consuming traditional techniques and want to skip ahead to the end. It is for these reasons that I am a series artist. I like to experiment with new ideas until I am satisfied with the result then I move on to a new one. Sometimes the result can lead the next series. The inspiration for a lot my work is in the trying of the new techniques. Having freedom of expression and not being limited to one style of making art are paramount to my identity as an artist.
