High Desert based multi-media artist Michael Hulyk has been a lifelong art maker and has been working professionally in illustration and animation since 2017. Growing up a post-Orthodox latchkey kid in Illinois, Hulyk spent his time consuming as many films, tv series, albums, books, and paintings as he could find. Now, he pulls from and juxtaposes these disparate influences within his body of work, using them as the language with which he searches to illuminate the under-appreciated strangeness of life.
