Chilli Art Projects was founded in July 2021 by artist and avid collector, Aubrey Higgin. Aiming to spotlight a diverse range of artists and tell their untold stories, Chilli Art Projects gives a platform to the hottest talent in the contemporary art market, with a specific focus on African Art. Chilli Art Projects has quickly grown into a respected voice in the conversation surrounding emerging African Art in London and beyond. The gallery operates from a 1000+ square-foot permanent space in Mayfair, London, as well as running a regular programme of ambitious off-site projects in London and at the Higgin Family Collection in Cheshire. We take great pride in having a close relationship with our artists, giving them a solid foundation to build their career on through the careful placement of their works, as well as through mentorship and guidance from other practicing artists across different sectors and media. We believe in nurturing our artists and giving them the tools to find their voice within the wider context of the contemporary art scene, presenting their work with intellectual and academic rigour. As the programme has evolved, the gallery has built a small roster of around 5 artists who we represent, as well as another 5-10 that we work closely with. Our artists work in all media and styles, defined largely by their desire to tell the untold stories of the African continent and its diaspora.
